Excessive dependency on a small number of developers or suppliers is also a common concern. These issues often surface during potential acquisitions and mergers. To address them, ESBL developed Software Safeguarded.
Knowledge as a Service
Software Safeguarded is insurance for the knowledge, code and documentation of your platform.
Software Safeguarded consists of a virtual vault containing up-to-date functional and technical documentation, supported by two team members who maintain the vault and can be deployed for incidents, urgent requests or onboarding new team members. The Safeguarding Team also acts as a point of contact that can connect with a development team that may be located abroad.
The process can be divided into two parts:
- Inventory and organising documentation
- Keeping knowledge and documentation periodically up to date
On one hand, you get a team that is always reachable and deployable. On the other, you get up-to-date documentation everyone can work with.
Knowledge is documented in a way that stakeholders can always access and that cannot be captured by malicious actors.
